NEG8 Carbon developed Ireland’s first DAC system, a 1.2 tonne CO₂ per annum prototype in 2022, then a 300 tonne CO₂ per annum pilot project with Deep Sky, Canada. And our next system is our 4200 tonne CO₂ per annum module for large scale DAC farms. Our innovation continues at pace, we are not slowing down!
NEG8 Carbon is committed to providing verifiable and certifiable CO₂ capture. To this end, we are independently certified by puro.earth and Isometrix. Some of the awards we’ve received include the EIC Seal of Excellence, Irish Times Innovation Awards finalist, and a Carbon Capture Innovation Prize.
For almost 200 years, our reliance on carbon-intensive activities has resulted in the release of over 800 gigatonnes of CO₂ into the atmosphere.
While reducing emissions is imperative to reach net-zero, it is not enough. It is equally important to actively remove the legacy CO₂ from the air. The concentration of CO₂ in the atmosphere needs to go down from the current 420 parts per million (ppm) to 350 ppm, the level considered to be safe.
And Direct Air Capture is the most effective way to remove atmospheric CO₂.
That is why NEG8 Carbon is committed to undertaking this essential task by extracting millions of tonnes of carbon from the air to help reach net-zero by 2050 while gathering momentum towards large-scale negative emissions.
